We are very excited to invite you to our service this Sunday, November 17th as Chad’s Hope will be joining us at First Christian Church in London, Kentucky. This will be the third year that Chad’s Hope has joined us at FCC and we can not wait to hear the testimonies of what God has done in these men’s lives and what he continues to do.
Some of you may be asking what is Chad’s Hope? I feel the answer to this question is best described by Wendell Carmack whose explanation is found on the Chad’s Hope website.
At a recent Chad’s Hope group meeting, I listened to one of our students tell his peers about the incredible mental, physical, emotional and spiritual changes that had occurred in his life. He said that he’d had an encounter with Jesus Christ and had decided to follow Him. He went on to say that since he made that decision he has been learning to live in freedom and that he is no longer bound by addiction and deception.
CHTC is not a half way house, a clinic, a crisis center or detention center. It is a discipleship based program where men learn that with God’s help, they can break the destructive patterns and habits that once controlled their lives. They discover that with His help, they can live productive, responsible Christ-centered lives and become trustworthy men who have a purpose and calling in life.
-Wendell Carmack
Chad’s Hope teaches the men in it’s program and those of us who stand witness that through Jesus Christ we all have hope to overcome whatever demons are in our life. Preaching there is no such thing as being too far gone and no matter how big your problems may be, God is bigger. Scripture tells us that the faith of a muster seed can move mountains, and Chad’s Hope is a testament to many mountains being moved by faith.
This Sunday, I would like to invite you on behalf of First Christian Church to join us as we worship together with Chad’s Hope. Our worship Service will begin at 10:30 followed by a Church Potluck. All are welcome and invited and if you can’t join us in person, we would love to have you join us on our Facebook page as we will be streaming our service live.
